Privacy policy

Eat and Die! is a free browser game from Rogue Signals, a Prime Rogue Inc. project based in Calgary, Alberta. This page explains what the game keeps about you, what Google collects through the ads and analytics on this site, and how long anything sticks around. Short version: we keep as little as the game needs, and we never sell it.

If you play without an account

Your game is saved only in your own browser, using local storage. It never reaches our server. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

If you create an account

Creating an account is optional. If you do, our database stores:

We don’t ask for your email, real name, age, location or anything else. We don’t store your IP address in the database.

Server logs

Like any website, the server that runs the game records basic request logs: IP address, the page or address requested, time, and browser type. We use them only to keep the site running and to stop abuse, such as password-guessing. Server logs are purged every 30 days. To slow down password-guessing, the server also keeps a short-lived count of sign-in attempts per IP address in memory; it is never written to the database and disappears when the server restarts.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people play, how long games last, and which pages get visited. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, browser and the pages you view. We use it only in aggregate and don’t combine it with your game account. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense

The game is paid for by ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads and to measure them, which can include ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. We don’t control those cookies and don’t receive the information they collect. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s ad settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Optional blockchain achievements

A future update may let you mint achievements to a blockchain such as WAX. This will always be optional. If you choose it, the achievement and your wallet address are written to a public blockchain, where they are permanent and visible to anyone. We can’t delete anything from a blockchain.

How long we keep things

Deleting your data

While signed in, choose Delete account in the game. Your account, save, score and sessions are erased from our database immediately. Our host’s automatic backups may keep a copy until they rotate out.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the services that run the site: Hostinger hosts the server and database, and Google provides the ads and analytics described above. We don’t sell or rent your information. We will disclose information only if the law requires it.

Kids

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions, or a request for the data we hold about you: [email protected].
